About sight loss

RNIB provides help, support and information to almost two million people living with serious sight loss. If you would like to know more about sight loss, these sections of the website may be useful.

Eye health includes details on the most common eye conditions that cause sight problems, as well as advice on preventative measures and looking after your eyes. There is also information on having an eye test at an optician and visiting a hospital for eye services.

Living with sight loss provides blind and partially sighted people with helpful information following their diagnosis, including registering and coping with sight loss.

We also offer blind and partially sighted people support for everyday life, including help around the home, education, travel, and reading and writing. Learn how to get the most out of computers, leisure activities and TV, radio and film.

There is also practical advice on how to help people with sight problems, working, managing your money and legal rights.
