About us
Judd street is the home to many services for blind and partially sighted people in London and the South East. We offer help and training covering employment, technology, children's services and PCET (Post-16) education.
We offer support to:

blind and partially sighted people who are in or looking for work

employers wanting to recruit, retain or train blind or partially sighted people

employees working with blind or partially sighted colleagues
-
students of all ages, through DSA Assessments

children and young people who are blind or partially sighted and their families
-
blind and partially sighted learners in further, higher or continuing education and training
-
professionals and organisations working with the above.
Action for Blind People Resource Centre
Based in Judd Street, the Action for Blind People Resource Centre operates on a drop in basis and houses a permanent display of various adaptive and assistive devices for people who are blind or partially sighted. Telephone 020 7388 1266 to speak to the resource centre staff.
Low Vision Centre
Based in Judd Street, the Action for Blind People Low Vision Centre is a partnership project between Action for Blind People, and the Primary Care Trusts and Local Authorities in the following boroughs: Camden, Islington, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, and Kensington and Chelsea.
It provides a specialist rehabilitation service for people who have been diagnosed as having low vision to get the help they need by looking at their everyday needs and difficulties.

We can help you access over 60 different RNIB services. These include music, mobility, the educational curriculum, braille, expert witness, books, publications, technology, benefits, hotels, our popular Talking Book Service as well as information and publications on a wide range of other subjects.
Location
We are located in Judd Street, a short walk from both Euston and King's Cross stations. We are situated within a custom designed, fully accessible building.

Sustainable development policy
As a centre we are committed to sustainable development. Alongside the RNIB's environmental policy, we are:

minimising use of paper by sending files electronically where possible and extensively reusing scrap paper

ensuring all PCs and other machines are off when not in use
-
recycling and reusing paper and other resources
-
implementing a policy of "eliminate, reduce, re-use, recycle and dispose"
-
developing our practices on an ongoing basis and encouraging staff to participate in this process.
