RNIB Peterborough

RNIB Peterborough office entrance

We invite you to visit our Peterborough site and see how we work to help people with sight loss. Designed to allow easy access throughout for 350 staff and many visitors, the site features tactile paths and colour contrasts to the walkways of the building. It's home to some of RNIB's specialist services.

A site tour

Visit RNIB Peterborough to find out more about the following:

  • Transcription of braille into foreign languages, mathematics and music, as well as the production of tactile images, maps and diagrams.
  • The largest braille production facility in Europe.
  • Our famous Talking Book Service. We distribute around 8,000 books a day, using the latest digital technology, to over 40,000 customers.
  • Our warehouse, where products and information are despatched around the world. We develop and market hundreds of everyday living products - from large button phones to liquid level indicators, braille publications to speaking clocks and watches. All are sold through Customer Services, or our online shop, as well as through local blind societies.
  • Volunteering teams: meet some of the many volunteers who work with us in a wide range of roles.

School visit service

We also offer a school visiting service in the Peterborough area. We can visit your school and share with children a little of what it is like to be blind or partially sighted and how RNIB can help. We also bring a handful of products with us (relevant to age group) for children to touch and use. Class sessions or assemblies optional.

Book a tour

Site tours can be tailored to suit your interest, up to two hours maximum on weekdays between 10am and 4pm. We welcome everyone from individuals, clubs, schools, health workers, businesses and organisations to international visitors. We do not charge a fee for a site tour but we do appreciate any donations to help fund our work.
