400 blind and partially sighted people rally Stormont

On 20 October, over 400 blind and partially sighted people showed their support for RNIB NI's "Right to Read" Rally outside parliament buildings at Stormont.

People with sight loss have the same right to information as their sighted counterparts, but still only five per cent of all printed material is made available in alternative formats such as audio, Braille and large print.

Whilst the rally outside Stormont showed the level of anger and frustration the 48,000 people with sight loss across Northern Ireland feel, over 50 blind and partially sighted people met their MLAs in the Long Gallery to further highlight this issue and raise its political profile.
