You will work with staff to design your own programme of study. The programme will reflect what you want to do when you leave. You can combine different elements from a range of courses available. You can also take additional qualifications.

Using the latest technology is an important part of every course. Depending upon your needs, you can use computers with enlarged graphics, speech or braille displays. Training on specialised equipment for note-taking and accessing text is also available. Laptops, braille and speech machines and other equipment are available to help with studying during free time.

Our Information and Technology Centre helps us to determine your technology needs according to your level of sight or disability. This area includes an Information and Technology room with 18 personal computers. This will allow you to gain skills using the most up-to-date software packages. We can also provide instruction in more specialised IT skills.
Transcription services
Transcription staff will adapt and transcribe work and learning materials into your preferred medium of large print, tape, disk or braille. This service enables you to get your course handouts and assignments at the same time as everybody else.

Student support
The centre will offer you a wide range of support and expertise. A rehabilitation officer will provide expert tuition in mobility. The centre can call upon expert counsellors, occupational and clinical psychologists and low vision specialists.
