Short films about issues facing people with sight loss

We want our work to be rooted in the needs and experiences of blind and partially sighted people. We want to know where we can make the greatest impact for blind and partially sighted people.

In these three short films Samantha, Steven and Ailsa share their stories and some of the issues they face as blind and partially sighted people today.

Samantha and her mum Louise

Samantha, nine, and her mum Louise share the story of Samantha's long diagnosis with cerebral visual impairment and dyslexia, her experiences at school, and at play.

Steven

Steven, 44, talks about his sight loss and the steps he's taken to maintain his independence in everyday life, such as online grocery shopping, train travel and visiting the gym.

Ailsa

Ailsa, 80, discusses losing her sight later in life, the changes she has made and her successful appeal to claim Attendance Allowance, which she put towards buying a computer to stay better connected.
