RNIB Research Library is Europe's largest, most comprehensive and diverse collection of print and electronic materials covering all aspects of partial sight and blindness. For general reading material in braille, large print or DAISY formats, please contact RNIB National Library Service.
We have five public PCs with JAWS and Zoomtext software for general use by blind and partially sighted visitors, and for research purposes by sighted users. There are also OCR scanning, CCTV, audiovisual and photocopying facilities.
Use our Online catalogue to search over 22,000 books, pamphlets, reports, offprints and videos on all aspects of sight loss, including 100 journals. Short abstracts are provided for many items, including journal articles.
RNIB Research Library is open to the public for free reference use without prior appointment, and most items can be borrowed for a small charge. UK and Republic of Ireland residents who borrow material regularly are welcome to Join RNIB Research Library on an annual basis. New literature on sight problems, our bimonthly listing of recent acquisitions, is also available to subscribers as part of our Current Awareness Service.
