Transport success 2011

On 15 February 2011, disabled people across Europe won new rights to travel on buses and coaches.

Following a strong RNIB campaign supported by hundreds of supporters, disabled people will now be entitled to accessible travel information both before and during the journey. In addition, bus operators will have to organise mandatory disability awareness training for all drivers.

There will be a right to compensation for damaged wheelchairs or other assistive equipment. Information about passenger rights will become available in terminals and online.
