Some organisations offer help with employment in music to people with disabilities.

Musicians Benevolent Fund gives help and support to musicians and their dependants who are in need as a result of "illness, accident or other misfortune". It also offers education awards to outstanding musicians.

Musicians Union is the only trade union for musicians in the UK. It covers all areas of music. It lobbies on behalf of musicians and offers information on employment to instrumentalists, performers, and music teachers. The Musicians' Union also offers legal advice, for example reading through contracts.

Musicians in Focus provides music technology assessments, advice and support for visually impaired musicians. It also offers training and workshops for teachers and other professionals.

Prince's Trust has a scheme for people aged 18 to 30 who want to set up their own business, including in the music industry.

MusicLeader is a support service dedicated to the professional development of UK music leaders. We aim to increase the quality, value and impact of music leadership. MusicLeader is funded by Youth Music and provides the following services via the network of MusicLeader regional services
located across the country:

  • one-to-one support and guidance
  • training and networking opportunities
  • online information and resources at www.musicleader.net
