Daily living skills

As they grow up, children are encouraged to learn how to dress themselves, feed themselves and develop other basic skills.

A blind or partially sighted child may not be able to learn from watching others, so will need to be taught these skills. This learning can be reinforced at school and needs to be discussed as part of an IEP (Individual Education Programme).

Encouraging your child to join in after-school activities will help develop some daily living skills.
