RNIB React locations

A variety of installations

This innovative talking sign system has the added benefit of being able to deliver additional messages for a variety of purposes. It can provide additional detail about a location, give tourist information in selected languages and provide real time passenger information (RTPI) such as the time and destination of the next bus to arrive.

It's been successfully installed in many town and city centres around the UK, as shown on the list of locations on this page. And is highly effective in transport hubs such as train, underground and bus stations. There are 20 RNIB React units used in Newcastle Metro alone.

Newbury provides a good example of how local councils and private companies can work together to support blind and partially sighted people within the local community. West Berkshire Council purchased 17 units positioning them at various locations which in turn has encouraged private organisations to independently purchase a further 7 units. It would be great to see this happening elsewhere in the UK.

List of locations

RNIB React has been around for a few years. Some of the installations are older units and deliver a single orientation message. Newer units may give out a second message on request, and may also deliver Real Time Information.

This list gives details of where the installations are, how many units are in use and their functions.

If you want to use the system then we can either provide you with contact details of trigger fob outlets, or we can sell you a trigger fob directly.

The list is in regional and then alphabetical order.
