Events and training

Our health and social care training courses aim to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of professionals working in rehabilitation, health and social care.

Training and development courses at RNIB Sunshine House School and Children's Home

RNIB Sunshine House School and Children's Home and Grangewood School are delighted to present a programme of training and development courses for professionals supporting children and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities including sight problems.

Our wide range of practical courses offer you the opportunity to brush up on your knowledge, share best practice and network with peers. Delivered to a high standard by specialist staff and expert independent consultants, you can be sure that you'll come away with credible and workable solutions that you can put into practice.

Courses are held at RNIB Sunshine House School and Children's Home in Northwood or at Grangewood School in Pinner, both of which are located in Middlesex.

If you have training requirements that are not covered by our programme, we're always happy to discuss the possibility of creating a bespoke course for you and your colleagues, tailored to your specific needs and delivered at a location that suits you.

Good Practice In Sight guide

RNIB's 'Good Practice In Sight' guide is designed to assist Local Authorities and their Adult Social Services departments in England achieve best levels of service delivery for blind and partially sighted adults.

If you work with blind and partially sighted people in the field of eye health or rehabilitation, NB magazine is essential reading.

Talk and Support

RNIB Talk and Support works closely with social services teams, and those in voluntary and eye health care sectors, to reach those people with sight loss who are most in need of social contact and peer support.

RNIB Tele Befriending is an award-winning free service for blind and partially sighted people and only requires access to a landline telephone. Read more about Talk and Support.
