If you're just starting to lose your sight, or you know that you will start to soon, it can be an upsetting and daunting time.

We're here to help. There are thousands of items in our online shop - if you're new to sight loss, this can be too many to take in. So we've picked 10 items to get you started and introduce you to our product range.

Bumpons
Bumpons are self-adhesive markers in various sizes, shapes and colours. Ideal for labelling things like on/off buttons, washing machine settings, oven controls - the list is endless.

Top tip: There are many different ways of labelling items. You can put a rubber-band around your toothbrush to distinguish it from someone else's, place magnetic letters onto tin lids or make clear print labels using thick dark felt tip pens. We sell a wide range of labelling products, from simple stick on labels to sophisticated audio labellers.

Audible/vibratory liquid level indicator
Make your cup of tea with confidence! This ingenious little device clips over the top of the mug and will let you know when the liquid reaches the right level.

Jumbo easy-to-see watch
This stylish watch has a black metal frame and a black leather strap. The hands and numbers are large and easy-to-see. This watch really is good to look at.

This sleek and stylish mobile phone looks like many others on the outside but when you flip it open, you'll reveal a large number keypad and a large high contrast screen.

Universal TV remote control
This remote control works on most makes of television, from Aiwa to Zanussi. It features four large navigation buttons and good colour contrast.

This mains operated portable light now comes with an 'easy-twist' shade for maximum light angle. It is lightweight, compact, folds up neatly and is conveniently portable.

Never hand over a wrong note again! This note checker come with a signature guide, to help with cheques, receipts and anything else you have to sign. This handy duo comes in a sleek plastic wallet, ideal for a pocket.

Top tip: Being able to buy things and have control over your money is essential, but can be hard if you're losing your sight. We sell products that can help you manage your money, such as coin holders and note detectors.

Big print address book
This address book has big, bold print in easy-to-see font sizes. The high quality paper provides good colour contrast and prevents ink bleeding through. It features tabbed letter dividers on heavier textured paper, making it easy to distinguish between pages.

Handheld magnifiers
Easy to use and available in different types of powers. Some have built-in illumination whilst others rely on natural light or task lighting. Ideal for taking out with you as they are mostly lightweight and fit easily into a bag.
