Background

Wayfinding encompasses all of the ways in which people orient themselves in physical space and navigate from place to place. This report is the first phase of RNIB's Wayfinding project and focuses on a review the current available solutions.

Key findings

This report aims to identify innovative solutions to existing barriers which hinder blind and partially sighted people when making journeys. Findings are collated into three themes:

  • Review the current available solutions.
  • Understanding the problem.
  • Identifying the next steps.
