Children and families in Wales

RNIB Cymru's Education and Children's Services team works with children and young people who are blind or partially sighted, their families, and relevant professionals to promote good quality educational and social inclusion.

Children's events

We hold children's event throughout the year, from residential holiday schemes at various locations, to Sports Days and daytrips. Family events

We also organise weekends and day events for families with blind or partially sighted children and young people. We also organise visits to audio described theatre events and exhibitions, and audio described pantomimes at Christmastime. Support for parents

  • Infant massage - focuses on the importance of the bonding process and communication
  • Home visits - personal one-to-one support for parents and families
  • Parent events - a chance to meet with other parents
  • Information- factsheets, resources and materials, and signposting to other relevant organisations.
