Children and families in Wales

RNIB Cymru's Education and Children's Services team works with children and young people who are blind or partially sighted, their families, and relevant professionals to promote good quality educational and social inclusion.

Children's events

We hold children's event throughout the year, from weeklong residential schemes at Llangrannog Urdd Centre and St Clears, to Sports Days and daytrips. For more information on these events, please download our most recent newsletter, or contact Claire Milton on 029 2044 9553.

Family events

We also organise weekends and trips for families with blind or partially sighted children and young people. We also organise visits to audio described theatre events and exhibitions, and audio described pantomimes at Christmastime. Training for parents

  • Infant massage - focuses on the importance of the bonding process and communication
  • Including me - Providing a quality early years environment for children with sight problems
  • Play it my way - Promoting play opportunities and experiences for children with multiple disabilities and sight problems
  • Birth to three matters - Promoting development for children under three
