We're delighted to announce that Ceri Jackson has been appointed as the new Director of RNIB Cymru.
Commenting on her appointment, Ceri said: "I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to lead an organisation that I care so passionately about. RNIB Cymru has achieved so much over the past few years and I'm delighted to be working with such a talented and committed staff team, and such supportive members and volunteers.
"RNIB is currently in the process of consulting our members and other stakeholders about our future strategy, and their views will shape our work in Wales over the coming years. One key priority will, of course, be our move with Cardiff Institute for the Blind into brand new premises in the centre of Cardiff in the spring, which will include a state-of-the-art resource centre for blind and partially sighted people in the heart of the city centre."
Ceri has been acting as interim Director for the organisation for the last five months, and was appointed following a full recruitment process. She has worked for RNIB for nearly 20 years, most recently managing RNIB Cymru's external affairs, membership, sight loss prevention and Eye Clinic support services. She is Chair of the Wales Vision Strategy Advisory Group and of the Advisory Group for the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service for Wales, and has also worked as a freelance consultant in the third sector.
