Welsh actor and star of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Michael Sheen OBE, has been recording the lines from the well known children's book for sight loss charity the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
By helping to record the audio books, the actor hopes to encourage people to take part in the charity's annual fundraising and awareness raising event, Read for RNIB Day, which takes place this year on the 19 October.
Michael, who was born in Newport and grew up in Baglan, is renowned for his ability to pick up accents effortlessly and so welcomed the chance to use his voice for the charity, which produces audio books for blind people.
He explained: "Reading and stories are such an important part of childhood; they're what inspired me to write. It's terrible to think that some people are denied this because they can't see. I heard about RNIB's work and wanted to get involved in Read for RNIB Day. We hope to inspire people to help raise funds for services such as RNIB's National Library Service, which offers books in alternative formats to blind and partially sighted people."
