Training and demonstration area

Our specialist training and demonstration area offers:

  • electronic tools for reading print out loud and for magnifying print instantly to a size and colour that suits you
  • desktop and laptop computers made accessible through speaking and magnification software
  • access to the internet
  • devices for reading the computer screen in braille
  • electronic note-taking equipment specially designed for blind and partially sighted users
  • a wide range of other useful technology from large print keyboards to an embosser for producing braille.

Our training and demonstration area is used primarily for assessments and training courses.

The area can also be hired. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Location

The training and demonstration area is enhanced by its location next to our Children's Centre, which has specialist IT Resources for children. The RNIB Resource Centre has a large range of aids and equipment (technical and other) for work, school and daily living.

Opening hours

The Resource Centre is open Weekdays (excluding Bank Holidays): 9.30am to 5pm (Wednesdays 4pm).

We close at 3.30pm on a Friday before a Bank Holiday.
