On Friday 18 March, Belfast Lord Mayor Pat Convery hosted a highly successful audio description in sport event.

RNIB Northern Ireland celebrated the success of Audio Description at international football with senior representatives of the Irish Football Association [IFA] and called for other sports to follow suit.

Audio Description is well established through Digital TV, at Arts and Theatre Venues and at an increasing number of Cinemas throughout NI. However Windsor Park is the only sports venue in NI to have Audio Description for blind and partially sighted people

"RNIB are delighted at the ongoing commitment from the IFA to include blind and partially sighted people at international matches at Windsor. We want to celebrate the success of the IFA's Soccer Sight initiative and at the same time encourage the other main spectator sports to pro actively include blind and partially sighted people as spectators at their sports venues.
