RNIB REACT system in Lisburn was launched on Thursday 29 September by CEO Lesley Anne Alexander.
Local blind and partially sighted people were involved in developing the route messages and attended the launch to see the units in action.
The first phase of 12 units are now in place, with the second phase to follow in 2012. This will cover the city centre and provide routes from the bus and train station to popular destinations such as the South Eastern Regional College, Bow Street Mall, the Health Centre and Lisburn City Library.
