RNIB NI's Heart of the Ocean Gala Ball at Titanic Belfast

The awe inspiring Titanic Belfast, was the setting for RNIB Northern Ireland's 2012 Gala Ball on Thursday 26 April.

Guests were met on arrival with a drinks reception before being seated and treated to the Belfast Operatic Company performing three pieces from 'Titanic' the Musical.

Our 270 guests then enjoyed a sumptuous four course dinner which preceded a series of speeches. The first was delivered by a representative from Cookstown Leisure Centre speaking about the merits of being rewarded RNIB NI's Model of Excellence status.

RNIB NI Director Charlie Mack then presented four more Model of Excellence awards to:

  • Elaine Lappin and Andrew Kennedy from the Lisburn Tourism Board
  • Paula Grant & Martin McComb Mater Hospital
  • Gerry Knight Strule Arts Omagh
  • Junior Ministers, Jonathan Bell and Martina Anderson, were present to receive the award on behalf of the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister.

We then took this opportunity to debut the new RNIB Northern Ireland Services DVD, which will be available very soon. Alternatively, you can access it on our Youtube channel.

Following this, it was then over to the Brilliant Booze Brothers, who entertained our guests on into the wee small hours.

The event was undoubtedly a resounding success, and we are confident that funds raised have exceeded last years total.
