Looking Ahead, A Parent's Guide

Looking Ahead - A Parent's Guide

The Armagh City hotel was the venue, on Tuesday 30 October 2012, for the launch of RNIB NI's new booklet entitled "Looking Ahead: A Parent's Guide".

Production of this booklet was made possible by funding from the Health and Social Care Board of Northern Ireland.

It includes information on:

  • health and education services for blind or partially sighted children
  • information about charities and voluntary agencies who can help
  • tips for when attending the eye clinic with your child
  • jargon busting information regarding medical terms relating to the eye clinic.

At the launch event representatives from RNIB Northern Ireland, thanked the Health and Social Care Board who made the project possible. The charity also expressed its thanks to those who contributed to the booklet's content, including Sensory Support and Children's Disability Teams in the Health and Social Care Trusts, as well as Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVI).

You can download the guide in either Word or PDF format, by visiting the RNIB NI Family Support Service page of our website.
