Haggeye scoops Young Scot award

Haggeye, RNIB Scotland's youth forum for blind and partially sighted young people, won the prestigious 'Democracy and Citizenship' award at the Young Scot 2010 Awards in Glasgow last week.

Activities the forum engaged in included work to ensure school information publications were accessible to students with sight loss, involvement with the Youth Commission on Alcohol, and participation in the Scottish Parliament's Community Partnership Project.

Accepting the award at a ceremony in Glasgow, Haggeye chair Gemma Mackintosh said: "It was an absolute privilege to win."
