RNIB's Vision magazine scoops industry title

Vision, the magazine for members of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has emerged victorious from the 2009 Memcom Awards held on Thursday 29 January, picking up the award for best charity/ other membership magazine.

This bi-monthly magazine was commended by the judging panel for the way it provides interesting information to engage with a broad membership of different age groups and with varied interests.

The judges were also impressed with the audio version of Vision, which is produced as a radio-style programme with presenters and on-location interviews, as well as engaging covers, clear layout and quality research.

Andy Barrick, Head of Membership and Information Services for RNIB says: "We're very proud to win this title, which is reward for the hard work our publishing and membership teams put into making sure that Vision provides the content that members want.

"The achievement is especially significant as we have beaten strong competition from two magazines entered by a specialist publishing company."

Vision Editor Clare Conley says: "I am delighted that the magazine has won this award. Vision proves that you can produce a lively lifestyle magazine, and all other information, in a totally accessible and inclusive way."

As well as standard print and audio CD, Vision is also available in Daisy CD, braille, clear print and email.
