RNIB's structure puts us in the best position possible to achieve our aim of ending the isolation of sight loss.
We are divided into six groups, each working to acheive various parts of our overall strategy. These are detailed below.
RNIB's supreme decision making authority is the Board of Trustees, and there are also a number of committees. Find out more about how we are governed.
Chief Executive's office
Chief Executive: Lesley-Anne Alexander.
Fundraising
Group Director: Wanda Hamilton.
Our fundraising staff are tireless in their efforts to raise the money RNIB needs to continue the vital work we do. Without our fundraising group, our ability to acheive our aims would be severely limited.
Inclusive Society
Group Director: Fazilet Hadi.
One focus of this group is to significantly change blind and partially sighted people's experiences of getting around, visiting the shops and managing their finances. The other is to provide more access to books, television, radio, ICT and mobile technology for blind and partially sighted people.
Independent Living
Group Director: Sally Harvey.
This group is focusing on three key areas:
-
Reaching people at an early stage to support them in getting on with their lives after losing their sight.
-
Helping people live independent lives through support, education and employment.
-
Making sure our care and education services provide support to those people with complex needs, as well as increasing diagnosing of sight loss in people with learning disabilities.
Prevention and International Affairs
Group Director: Stephen King.
The focus of this group is to target people most at risk of sight loss, making sure they can access treatment.
This group is also our link with international issues - ensuring that the needs of blind and partially sighted people are considered when international decisions are made. This may include the introduction of new products, legislation or even when new currency is being produced.
Resources
Group Director: Keith Hickey.
This group co-ordinates our resources to ensure we all have the support we need to deliver the strategy. These resources include IT systems, phone networks, HR assistance, financial processes and even management of our facilities across RNIB locations.
