Transport and getting around - Policy statements

One of the main problems blind and partially sighted people have is getting out and about safely and independently. Whether it's because there are obstacles blocking the way, poor street design, or problems with using public or community transport, blind and partially sighted people are being denied the right to independent and safe travel.

We believe that being blind or partially sighted shouldn’t mean giving up the right to being able to independently get around. A well placed road crossing, a clear pavement or provision of accessible bus information could stop a town centre becoming a no-go area.

Policy Statements

We currently don't have any policy statements on transport and getting around published. However please email campaign@rnib.org.uk to discuss the issues further.
