RNIBs AGM - Invite to and submit your questions

The Board of Trustees invites you to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of RNIB, to be held from 9:30 until 11:00 on 9 November 2017 at 105 Judd Street, London WC1H 9NE.

The AGM provides an opportunity to learn more about RNIB’s strategic priorities and achievements, to receive the Annual Report and Accounts for 2016/17, to appoint RNIB’s auditors and to receive an update on the membership of the RNIB Board. In addition to the formal requirements of the meeting, we would like to give Connect members the opportunity to ask open questions and provide honest feedback to participate in our decision making and have a say in our future direction.

If you would like to put any questions to Trustees or Executive Directors at the AGM please submit them in this thread, by email or telephone to the Connect team before Thursday 2 November 2017. contact details are: Connect@rnib.org.uk or call 0303 1234 555

The AGM will be followed by RNIB’s Lifetime Achievement Awards, celebrating the accomplishments of people who have made an exceptional contribution to the lives of blind and partially sighted people.

After the meeting there will be an opportunity to network with Trustees over lunch. The full agenda will be made available along with the Annual Report and Accounts in October 2017.

This year we will be making our AGM accessible to as many members as possible by broadcasting it on Connect radio and Facebook and recording podcasts to be available on demand. This means that you will have the option of participating from home.

Wondering why 9:30 - 11:00 was chosen for the AGM - doesn't really give much opportunity for people to get to London to attend without getting up at a very early hour; also means people can't book off peak rail tickets which would be cheaper for them. Something like Noon - 13:30 would have been more accessible.

Hello Wigwag, thanks for getting in touch, you are right, it is an early start and I do note your comment about the issues for people outside of London. I will send your suggestion to the team organising the day and perhaps we can take this into consideration for next time, particularly if more people are keen to come along.
However, It may be helpful to know that to help those who cannot physically attend, for any reason, this year we will be covering the AGM via RNIB Connect radio and more details will be made available about how you can tune in.
And finally, if you have any particular questions you would like to ask of the Trustees and Executive Directors, please do get in touch, either via here, or by calling the team.

Hello, as an update to this, RNIB’s Annual Report and Accounts for 2016/17 will be presented at the AGM on Thursday November 9th at the Judd Street office.

A copy of the document which details RNIB’s strategic and financial performance during the past 12 months has been sent to every Connect member who has registered their interest in the AGM.

However, copies of the document are also available to anyone else who would like to see them, on request. If you would like one please send your name and email or postal address along with your preferred format to the Connect team, 0303 1234 555 connect@rnib.org.uk.
