Shape your Connect

Calling all young people with sight loss, we need your help to develop the connect community to represent people like yourself. I would love to hear your suggestions on how we can do this, if you have any ideas or opinions I would love to hear them. We would like to hear from anyone under 30 on the kind of connect you would want and if you are over 30 I would love to hear what you wish you had when you were in this age group. This is an ongoing project that will involve focus groups, engagement activities and the development of a strategy to implement the ideas generated. So if anyone is interested in working on this with me please get in touch.

Hello Cyreeta

This is an interesting subject to someone like myself who reached the tender ago of 60 last Wednesday. Back in the 70s when i was under the age of 30 there was nothing available like Connect or anything else to be honest, so things like Connect would have been brilliant then.

We did not even have PCs in those days, so the only help available was calling the local authorities or RNIB, who were a much smaller organisation then.

I would have loved to have such things as Connect, Twitter, Facebook and the likes to be able to communicate with fellow VI people. The young ones are very lucky to have so much available to them now. I hope that this feedback is useful. You are welcome to contact me on dunfordrobin@hotmail.com if you would like any further help.

Robin

Hi. I’m going to be volunteering for RNIB Connect, so if you need any assistance, I’m always up for working hard. I have a lot of free time, so I’d like to start filling it up if I can.
