Dennis Huckle, 61, of Northamptonshire, runs an access technology company and is registered blind.
He is able to read by using RNIB's Talking Book service.
"I live on my own and am totally blind. Although I enjoy a good social life, coming home and settling down with a book is such a pleasure. It's a voice in the house when you're on your own."
How RNIB helps Dennis
"The Talking Book Service is so valuable. For every aspect of my life I use RNIB's Talking Book Service" says Dennis.
Whether it's David Copperfield or employment legislation, it's all available through RNIB.
Dennis also studied for a qualification using Talking Books: "It was a huge help during my studies, Talking Books helped me gain qualifications which led me onto a career that I love. It is difficult to believe in this day and age, I am reliant on a charity to get access to books."
Make a donation
We need your help to fund our vital services for blind and partially sighted people in the UK. Right now we can only reach one in three of the people who need our help most.
Please make a donation and help us reach them all.
A third of our vital work helping people with sight loss is only possible thanks to people continuing their support through a legacy gift. Find out how you can leave a gift to RNIB in your Will.
