Reasons to leave a gift in your Will

RNIB campaigns for better public awareness of sight loss

Every year thousands of people choose to leave a legacy to RNIB. Anyone can support our work in this way and every single pound has the power to make a difference. One day your legacy could help us ensure that no one with sight loss will be left without the practical and emotional help they need. This is your chance to be part of something truly amazing, please consider supporting our work in this very special way.

We change lives

"RNIB gave me the encouragement and support I really needed to get me back on track again."
Lee's story

"It gave me the confidence to communicate and be independent."
Nicola's story

Thanks to legacy gifts we're here to help people reclaim their lives.

We rely on gifts in Wills to fund our vital work

We receive no government funding so we rely on the generosity of our supporters. Currently around a third of our work is funded from legacies left in people's Wills.

"Without legacy income there is no doubt that our direct services would be reduced or may even stop."

Read more about how legacies help to keep our services running.

The simple fact is that, without the generosity of people remembering RNIB in their Will, we will not be able to continue all of our vital work for people facing sight loss in future years.

We are trusted and efficient

Your legacy will contribute to a tangible set of services. Our annual report gives details of what we have achieved and our plans for the future. We are open and transparent. We are grateful for every penny we receive and we don't waste money. For every pound we raise, we spend 14p raising the next pound, 2p on administration and the other 84p goes directly to services for blind and partially sighted people.

More people than ever before will need us

Every day another 100 people start to lose their sight. With the UK's ageing population the number of people suffering from age-related sight loss will increase. In fact it is predicted that by 2050 the number of people with sight loss in the UK will double to nearly four million. This means that more people than ever before will be turning to RNIB and we simply can't contemplate not being here for them.

Be part of a brighter future

We have been supporting blind and partially sighted people for over 140 years. Thanks to the continued involvement of people like you, there have been many milestones and triumphs in RNIB's history, but our work is far from over.

We are ambitious for the future. Our vision is a world where blind and partially sighted people enjoy the same rights, freedoms, responsibilities and quality of life as people who are fully sighted and one in which no one needlessly loses their sight. By leaving a gift in your Will to RNIB you will help to make this brighter future a reality.
