RNIB is pleased to be part of Remember a Charity, a group of over 140 charities who have joined forces to encourage more people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to charity.
Our work is only possible because of the generosity of people like you, whether it's through donations, raffle tickets, collection boxes or taking part in our events. But it's a little known fact that a third of our vital income actually comes from people leaving gifts in Wills.
Help the work live on
Every year legacy gifts support a whole range of our work, including our National Library Service, Helpline, specialist schools and residential homes. These are just some of the vital services that wouldn't be here if it wasn't for people remembering us in their Will. Legacies help to keep our services running.
Our vision is a world where people with sight loss enjoy the same rights, freedoms, responsibilities and quality of life as people who are fully sighted and one in which no one needlessly loses their sight. Legacy gifts will help make this brighter future a reality.
It's a common myth that you have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your Will to help us; this couldn't be further from the truth. Most of our legacies come from ordinary people who feel strongly about the work we do and want to continue the support they've always given. We are so grateful for all gifts we receive as every pound has the power to make a difference to someone's life.
People have many different reasons for leaving us a legacy. Read Maxine's story and hear about her experience of sight loss and why she's supporting us in this special way.
Be part of a brighter future
If you haven't already then please, during Remember a Charity Week, give some thought to leaving us a gift in your Will. With your help we will be here for blind and partially sighted people for many years to come.
