Payroll giving for employees

Give as you earn

The most widely known type of payroll giving is often referred to as give as you earn. It is tax-efficient as the donation is made from your gross pay. This means it costs you less to help RNIB.

Examples of what pledges will cost you in take-home pay:

  • a £5 pledge will only cost you £4 (at 20 per cent tax), £3 (at 40 per cent tax) or £2.50 (at 50% tax)
  • a £20 pledge will only cost you £16 (at 20 per cent tax), £12 (at 40 per cent tax) or £10 (at 50% tax)
  • a £50 pledge will only cost you £40 (at 20 per cent tax), £30 (at 40 per cent tax). or £25 (at 50% tax).

For example: for only £40 from your pocket, we can supply someone with Talking Books for a year (in addition to an individual's membership fee).

The amount you donate is entirely up to you. Find out how your money helps us support people with sight problems.
