Join our fantastic team of community fundraising volunteers today!
Whether you can spare just a few hours or would like to volunteer on a regular basis, by giving your time you will help us to reach more blind and partially sighted people that need our support.
There are lots of ways to help. Find Sooty a home or become part of a team by joining a local RNIB fundraising group. You could help us with charity store collections outside supermarkets and in train stations. Or you could find your voice - be a public speaker and talk to people about our work. Join our RNIB fundraising groups
We are looking for volunteers to join and set up new fundraising groups across the country. Each fundraising group will help raise funds and awareness in their community. This could include anything from a coffee morning, to a fun run, to handing out eye health leaflets.
Our fundraising groups will have lots of different volunteering opportunities, such as group leader, event organiser or just someone who helps out now and again so no matter what your strength you can help!
Let's find Sooty a home
Are you a business that could home one of our Sooty collection boxes? Or if you don't have your own business, you can help us by visiting local businesses such as pubs, local supermarkets and post offices to ask them if they will home a Sooty collection box. Just one Sooty box could help us to raise over £100 a year. This could help give ten people who have recently lost their sight the chance to speak to people in the same situation.

If you can spare up to four hours a week you can help us to empty Sooty collection boxes in your area. Our target this year is to raise £750,000 to help blind and partially sighted people and with your support, you can help us get there.
Charity store collections
Charity collections at supermarkets, shopping centres and stations are a vital way for RNIB to raise funds. Just one collection could raise £150 and help us reach this year's target of over £100,000.
If you can spare as little as four hours a year you could help us with charity collections at local supermarkets, sporting venues and other locations in your area. You can volunteer for a one-off collection or volunteer regularly.
Talk about RNIB
You could make a difference in your community by raising awareness about the work that RNIB does throughout the UK. If you are a confident public speaker, you could help us reach communities across the UK to raise awareness and engage community groups, local business and schools in fundraising for RNIB.
