Preparing a Will

This section contains essential information for professional advisors when preparing a Will for a client who wishes to include a gift to RNIBBecome a corporate partner like AIG and help support blind and partially sighted people across the UK.

We also offer guidance when meeting a blind or partially sighted person for the first time. This is available to download and contains practical advice on how to behave and the kind of adaptations you need to make to documents. Professional advisors are invited to join our Directory of Will Writing Services, our resource for supporters wishing to make a Will. Alternatively, if you are an executor, we can support you in administering an estate.

Writing wills for blind and partially sighted people

If you are preparing to meet with a client for the first time who is blind or partially sighted, you may wonder how to behave and what kind of adaptations you need to make to documents to make them more accessible. RNIB has a helpful guide available to download, containing practical advice. Fill in our Writing Wills for blind and partially sighted people form. We offer help to anyone living with sight loss.

Join our Directory of Will Writing Services

We have set up a Directory of Will Writing Services for solicitors and Will writers in the UK who have agreed to support RNIB by offering to write simple wills at favorable rates. 90 per cent of the two million people with sight problems are aged over 60, which includes people living in your community. The Directory is exclusively for the benefit of RNIB supporters and service users. If your firm is registered, we can refer local clients to you.

There is no charge for joining - all we ask is that you agree to charge clients a favorable, fixed rate for single and mirror wills that have been agreed with us in advance. Fill in our Directory of Will Writing Services form.
