Young RNIB campaigners, including Insight’s young illustrator Kimberley Burrows, have been educating Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) about sight loss.

The event, High Speed Blind Dates, was run in Brussels by the European Blind Union, to help MEPs understand the challenges faced every day by blind and partially sighted people.

Each “blind date” consisted of young campaigners from Envision leading blindfolded MEPs through a series of tasks including using a TV remote control. The campaigners also highlighted the need for websites and apps to be accessible, including when accessed by phone or tablet.

Kimberley Burrows, Alba de Toro Nozal, Tuesday Berry and Jonathon Miller were joined by RNIB’s campaigns team and colleagues from across Europe. Read Kimberley's blog post about the event.
