RNIB Campaigns and
NAB (Northampton Association for the Blind) are developing a disability link group; the idea behind this group is that it will act as an early warning system for vulnerable people to inform them when construction/hazards will be in place in their area.
Working closely with the County Council, they have agreed to let NAB know of any construction planned and NAB will feed this information to all the other groups in their system.
If this works it should help to stop the stress and upset that can be caused when a familiar route is blocked, or even the injury caused when bumping into an unexpected cone, sign or even hole in the ground!
