On Wednesday 23 January we held an Eye Pod event outside Ealing Town Hall. Members of the local Adult Social Services Scrutiny Committee visited the Pod to learn about ways they could improve the planning of services for blind and partially sighted residents
After entering the Pod visitors are able to view the world through cameras that simulate the perspective of someone living with one of the four most common eye conditions, Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy and Cataracts.
This event gave us the opportunity to engage with councillors including the council's health spokesperson and opposition health spokesperson and our JSNA template and guidance was shared with the full membership of the committee.
Assembly member Dr. Onkar Sahota also visited the Pod to lend his support to our event.
