The Northumberland Action Group group has recently been putting pressure on Northumberland Council to tackle street clutter.
Campaigner John Anderson carried out a survey in Morpeth and counted 56 advertising boards, including five outside one premises. The group has raised their concerns over a range of issues including street clutter and pavement parking with the council.
Joyce Anderson, who lives in Morpeth, said:
"Pavement obstructions are not just an issue in Morpeth, but across the county, with parked cars along with A-boards also a specific problem in many parts of the county. We have raised the problems with the councils Executive Member and managed to get coverage in the local newspaper the Morpeth Herald, all to increase pressure to have the problem dealt with. Gathering evidence has been important to us in making sure that people take our concerns seriously."
