Crowds gathered outside the Town Hall in Albert Square to hold a rally, with speakers expressing their opposition to deep cuts in services, such as social care and transport, that many in the region rely upon to live fulfilled and independent lives.
Speakers included Two Labour MPs, Tony Lloyd (Manchester Central) and Paul Goggins (Wythenshawe and Sale East) and Julie Hesmondhalgh, Coronation Street's Hayley Cropper, who gave a great rousing speech. The event was rounded off by Kaliya Franklin, founder of the Broken of Britain campaign who delivered their "I have a dream" speech.
One of the speakers, Thomas Butler, 22, who has Aspergers syndrome and ADHD, said: "I want to see a society which disabled people are at the heart of, rather than discriminated against"
Over 200 people signed out Hardest Hit petition.
