Approximately 250 disabled people, their families and friends took to the streets of Brighton on Saturday 22 October to protest against cuts to essential support for disabled people.
Speakers included Cllr Stephanie Powell who told the crowd she is a passionate supporter of the Hardest Hit campaign and local disabled communities. Colin Bennett, a local man with experience of dual sensory loss added the Government should not go in for penny pinching measures on people who have a hard road to follow.
Gill Stancer, who traveled from the New Forest to speak at the rally remarked that without Disability Living Allowance benefit (DLA) she would become a virtual prisoner in her own home.
