Don't take away my Talking Books, Brighton...

Blind and partially sighted residents in Brighton are delighted that all their hard work to save their RNIB Talking Books service is about to pay off. On 9 February campaigners heard that Brighton and Hove council had overturned proposals to cut the service.

Saving services in the South East

RNIB regional campaigns officer, Lynsey Brooks moved on to pastures new in May, but managed to celebrate another campaign success before she left us - this time in collaboration with BucksVision.

Shared spaces: What do you think?

Ashford was one of the first areas in the UK to put in place a shared space. Since then other councils have been developing similar spaces, removing kerbs, pedestrian crossings and other barriers between the traffic and the pedestrians.
