Volunteer campaigner, Madeline Close has successfully challenged cuts to concessionary fares in Hampshire. When the council started consulting on the disabled person's bus pass she encouraged people to respond locally, attended meetings, and wrote a detailed response to the consultation.
As a result of all this hard work Hampshire County Council carried out a full assessment of the impact the changes would have on disabled people. In the end the council actually extended the amount of time disabled bus users can use their passes for in Hampshire, and kept companion passes.
