The Eye Pod arrives in Plymouth

On the 30th July, we set up the RNIB Eye Pod trailer in Civic Piazza in Plymouth. Many came to see the futuristic looking pod which allows visitors to see the world through the four major eye conditions in the UK via the two eyes mounted on it's roof.

We were delighted to be able to welcome Councillor Susan McDonald, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Adult Social Care, Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board, Councillor Brian Vincent, Cabinet Member for Environment and Councillor Mark Coker, Cabinet Member for Transport into the pod to discuss the importance of eye health in the area.

Also, a massive thank you to the local society Plymouth Guild and its members who helped out on the day.

Next stop Bristol...
