RNIB volunteer meets Labour Leader and Shadow Chancellor

Regional Campaigns Officer for the West Midlands Rebecca Swift and Volunteer Campaign Coordinator Mike Hughes attended a constituency meeting in Kingstanding, Birmingham with Ed Milliband, Leader of the Labour Party and Ed Balls, Shadow Chancellor ahead of the local elections in Birmingham.

The meeting focused on the current state of the economy in England. Mike described his concerns about how blind and partially sighted people would be affected by the loss of eligibility for the higher rate mobility allowance that will occur if the current proposals for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) are implemented.
