Work on Stoke Shared Space Proposals

Rebecca Swift RNIB's Regional Campaigns Officer for the West Midlands has been working with Action for Blind People Stoke on Trent and Guide Dogs for the Blind to ensure that a proposed shared space development in Hanley town centre is as safe as possible for blind and partially sighted people.

She has met with Stoke on Trent City Council on several occasions to discuss the plans for the development. The council has already made several alterations to the plans as a result of these meetings, one of which is the inclusion of a safe, controlled crossing point in the development.
