Working with Jack Dromey MP
Rebecca is working with Birmingham MP Jack Dromey regarding local budget cuts, in particular the reduction in some ticket office opening hours proposed by London Midland Trains.
Jack is also keen to be involved in the local Hardest Hit day of Action and to support local blind and partially sighted people to campaign on issues that are important to them.
Campaigners make the news at the Hardest Hit march and lobby
Around 35 people from around the West Midlands attended the march and lobby on the 11th of May. One of the campaigners from Birmingham managed to secure television coverage of the West Midlands contingent from both ITV Central and National. We are still encouraging local blind and partially sighted people to write and meet with their MP if they haven't already to express their concerns regarding the proposed changes to the Welfare Reform Bill.
