A safe route into Sainsburys

Blind and partially sighted people in Harrogate found themselves blocked off by a row of trolleys when they tried to enter their local Sainsbury's supermarket.

The disabled access to the store was repeatedly blocked defeating the store's own arrangements for their disabled customers. Roy Ruddick, Regional Campaigns Officer for Yorkshire and Humber, successfully challenged the local management to clear and maintain a safe route.

Sainsbury's HQ subsequently issued a notice to all their stores to adhere to the correct placement of trolleys.
