Lost and Found Campaigners are already making a difference all over the country. The call for adequate support at the time of sight loss is being brought to the ears of the public, the NHS, the Care Quality Commission and all the way into the corridors of parliament.
Join us by following our three steps to taking action right now and help bring an end to this injustice.
1. Write the letter
Write to the Director of Commissioning at your Primary Care Trust
Your Primary Care Trust (PCT) is responsible for providing the services we're calling for. With the number of people with sight loss set to double to nearly 4 million by 2050, it's more important than ever that PCTs provide world class services so people who lose their sight can find their lives again.
Download our template letter to ask what plans are in place for delivering high-quality support to people who are losing their sight. The template includes a response form which the letter asks the PCT to complete and send back to you. (Please ensure you indicate your name and the name of your PCT at the top of the response slip before you send your letter to your PCT. This will help us to track responses)
Find contact details for your PCT on the NHS website
Please return copies of any responses you receive to the Lost and Found campaigns team, 105 Judd Street, London, WC1H 9NE or email campaign@rnib.org.uk.
2. Complete the survey
Ask five people to complete the Expectations survey
Help raise awareness of the Lost and Found campaign by asking five people who do not have personal experience of sight loss to complete the Expectations survey. Compare the responses given to the shocking statistics revealed in the "Lost and Found" campaign report.
Forward your completed surveys to campaign@rnib.org.uk, or mail to the campaigns team at the above postal address.
3. Join the network
Keep up to date with the campaign by joining the Campaign Supporters Network
