We work with MPs and Peers on campaign and policy issues year round. We also have a campaign stand at the Annual Party Conferences each autumn because they provide a unique opportunity for campaigning organisations like RNIB.
At Party Conferences we are able to engage not only with MPs but also with delegates, other exhibitors and the media, many of whom have a role to play in improving the lives of blind and partially sighted people.
Party members and delegates are often involved in Local Government, many work in the public or private sector. We can talk to people involved in developing, providing or financing services that blind and partially sighted people need on a whole range of policy issues, such as:
-
health and education
-
employment
-
discrimination
-
transport
-
care issues.
We have, over the years, taken a number of different issues and calls to action to the Party Conferences. We choose our campaigns and develop our stands to engage visitors and, importantly, to ensure that the messages are relevant either personally or professionally to everyone who visits our stand.
