The number of people in the UK living with sight loss is set to double to four million by 2050.

Living with little or no sight requires a whole range of services to enable people to live independently, including access to information and ongoing support from social services, health and voluntary sector organisations.

Local authorities have the potential to transform the lives of blind and partially sighted people, even in the toughest times.
